Zombie Nation

Why so many of us are dissatisfied seems obvious. Cost of living, breakdown of faith, breakdown of the family and community support, modern living and high-rise environments, technological distraction. Trauma imprints and mass media scare stories, poor diet and capitalist rat-race that keeps us isolated or in physical and literal echo-chambers. Disconnection from soul, self, purpose, autonomy, the understanding of the divine state. The questioned tattooed on the western psyche ‘Am I really enough?’

But what if the cure for dissatisfation doesn’t lie in the prescription, or even the retreat, the meditation, the mushroom, the rebaptism, the ‘discovering one’s self’. Trying to fit ourselves into spiritual superiority, the game of who’s ‘done the work’ and how many times you’ve contemplated ayhuasca.

Maybe we learned to make everything complicated, taught to become a ‘seeker’ of knowledge, wisdom, truth, when the answer was not ever something we had to search for, do, or become.

To elevate out of heavy experience requires choosing to leave the dead behind. Learning to leave old thoughts, old experience behind. Not trying to change them, or to even transform or ‘learn’ from them – healing as another medal, another trophy ‘look how hard I’ve worked at this’ reflecting a state of assumed inherent brokenness.

Choosing a better relationship, higher income, more time freedom, happiness, greater health – doesn’t require the narrative of the ‘hero’s journey’.

Only a willingness to ‘die unto self’;

an active choosing of the new thoughts, the new beliefs, reprogramming our minds with our desired experience,

rather than inhabiting the corpse of the things that no longer serve us.

The longer we persist in the thoughts of that which we no longer desire

He said this
She is this way
It’s from my wound
This thing happened
I don’t understand
But how
This is unchangeable

The longer that which we no longer desire persists.

We were gifted the Resurrection not merely as a story of one man’s sacrifice, but for us to remember we are all Man, and therefore all able to die and resurrect.

The sacrifice of our state of being, in order for the new to arise.

Becoming the new, receiving Heaven on Earth – changing the relationship, requires your decision to assume your new state of being.

And continuing to kill the zombies of past thought, as they threaten to arise, so they do not take over your state, and soul.
