Anxiety? Here’s The Real Nervous System Reset

If I see one more post about ‘regulating your central nervous system’ … 😬

Seriously. Yes, I get we all struggle with anxiety now. 

You know why? Aside from living in basically pre-apocalyptic times, and being conditioned into the fear cult via the JABberwocky – 

Because we are meant to. 

Because our central nervous system is a group messenger. It, by itself, is a regulation mechanism – not just a signaller. I don’t know why modern medicine / psychological theory has this odd idea that we can separate out pieces of ourselves, like it doesn’t impact all the other pieces. 

Your central nervous system alerts you to things like 

  • when your baby needs feeding or is in distress without hearing them cry even when you’re sleeping 

I suddenly woke up one night in the middle of the night for zero reason and checked on my baby daughter to find she had turned blue and was barely breathing. 

How did I know? 

Your central nervous system is the thing that receives information. It’s trying to tell you something and it’s often trying to tell you about OTHERS. 

When your mom is in danger.

When your soulmate is locked in his thoughts again.

When your baby needs your heartbeat to breathe. 

When your girl wants your presence.

When your love needs your heartbeat to sleep. 

Energy is transferable, viable, felt;

part of the human experience that helps us to take care of one another. 

Maybe, just maybe, our energetic, viable human state is pushing us like a pressure valve into the arms of one another – away from the energetic straightjackets we aren’t meant to be locked into all day – screens, boardrooms, clinics, gym rooms.

It’s waking up. 

It’s not something to fix or treat or pacify or calm. 

This is how we connect. 

This is how we feel. 

This is a natural expression of our beautiful human state. 

This is how we understand and ‘hear’ one another in a time when our vocabulary is shrinking and our capacity to talk to one another seems like a forgotten dream. 

Maybe this IS the sign 

~ they want to hear from you. 

~ they need you, now.

~ to get out of your head and overthinking mind. 

Maybe this is connection. 

Connection is the cure ~ 

And what’s needed is to listen in to what your body is saying, 

Not try to quieten it down.
